Overview
A 12 ft. length of 1/2 in. resilient channel (RC-1), the single-leg galvanized channel screwed across studs or joists so drywall hangs on the channel instead of the framing. The spring action decouples the drywall and cuts sound transmission through walls and ceilings, which is why it is specified in party walls, apartments and sound-rated assemblies.
