Overview
FibaTape Crack Stop is a 6 in. wide roll of self-adhesive fiberglass mesh made for covering cracks rather than taping seams. It is meant for hairline, spider-web or branching cracks in drywall or plaster that keep coming back after ordinary patching. The width lets one strip span a crack and the sound wall on either side so the repair is anchored to stable material.
The fabric is pressed over the cleaned crack, then skim-coated with joint compound in two or three thin coats and sanded. Because the mesh is fiberglass, it does not absorb moisture or blister. The 75 ft. roll is the contractor length; the same fabric is available in 36 in. widths as Super Crackstop for whole-wall reinforcement.

Use and compatibility
For reinforcing and repairing recurring cracks in interior drywall, plaster or stucco walls and ceilings. Apply to a clean, dry, dust-free surface, then embed with joint compound. Setting-type or taping compound is recommended for the embedding coat; heavy-weight all-purpose ready-mix also works. Avoid lightweight compounds. Can be used for patching around holes with a patch or backing.
