Overview
FibaTape Extra Strength is the strongest tape in the FibaTape self-adhesive fiberglass mesh line. Its tri-directional weave adds fiberglass yarn running diagonally as well as lengthwise and crosswise, which lets the tape resist movement along a joint or crack from more than one direction. The roll is 2-3/8 in. wide instead of the usual 1-7/8 in., so it bridges wider gaps and distributes stress over more wall surface.
The tape is pressed directly onto the drywall or plaster joint and then coated with joint compound; no bedding coat is required. The adhesive is heavier than on standard mesh, which helps it stay put in humid rooms. It is sold as a 250 ft. roll in beige and is intended for joints, cracks, and repairs where recurring cracking is a concern.

Use and compatibility
For drywall seams and butt joints, plaster cracks, and patch reinforcement, especially areas prone to recurring cracking. Press onto a clean, dry, dust-free surface, then embed with joint compound. ADFORS recommends heavy-weight all-purpose ready-mix for Extra Strength on tapered seams; setting-type (hot mud) or taping compound also works. Avoid lightweight compounds for embedding. Not for use under direct tile; interior use.
