The Kraft facing has stapling flanges and acts as a vapor retarder (about 1.0 perm); it is combustible, so the insulation must be covered with a code-approved thermal barrier such as 1/2 in. drywall and kept away from open flame or heat sources. The product is made to ASTM C665, is GREENGUARD certified and validated formaldehyde-free, and is compression-packed to save space in transit.
