Overview
AFB is ROCKWOOL's commercial acoustical fire batt for interior steel-stud partitions. This 1-1/2 in. thick batt is 24 in. x 48 in., packed 16 per bag for 128 sq. ft. of coverage. It is unfaced and friction-fits between studs set 24 in. on center.
The batt is non-combustible stone wool with a 0/0 flame spread and smoke rating and is a listed component in many UL and Intertek 1- to 2-hour fire-rated wall assemblies. It absorbs sound within the wall cavity and is paired with gypsum board and resilient channel for full STC performance. It repels water and does not support mold growth.
