Overview
Comfortboard 80 at 1-1/2 in. thick is a rigid stone wool board rated R-6.3. The 24 in. x 48 in. boards come 6 to a bundle for 48 sq. ft. It is used as non-structural sheathing on the outside of a framed wall to cut thermal bridging, and on basement and foundation walls.
The board is non-combustible with a melting point near 2150 F, vapor permeable so moisture can dry outward, water repellent, and does not rot or support mold. It cuts with a bread knife and holds up under cladding attachments thanks to its 8 lb/ft3 density.
