Overview
Comfortbatt R-15 for steel framing is a 3-1/2 in. thick stone wool batt cut 16-1/4 in. wide by 48 in. long so it friction-fits between steel studs set 16 in. on center. Each bag holds 12 batts and covers 65 sq. ft. The flexible edge compresses as the batt goes in and expands back to fill the cavity, which keeps the rated R-value in place over time.
The batt is unfaced and non-combustible, repels water, and does not support mold growth. It can be cut with a serrated knife to fit around electrical boxes and plumbing. Typical uses are exterior steel-stud walls in light commercial and multifamily construction.
